My goal for the next two weeks is to completely finish planning the day camp program, from scheduling to the manual. There are four weeks of camp this summer. Each week will have a different theme: Aquatics Camp, Dinosaur Camp, Fun with Color (Paint) Camp, and finally Family Day Camp. The last week will be the most fun to participate in, yet the hardest to plan. I’m excited to see families sign up for camp and parents come out and experience Alta Mons for themselves.
I’m going to start interviewing potential staff. We’ve been getting a lot of applications in and were expecting more. The staff positions are filling up, but we still need male counselors.
Last week, I went to the Blacksburg community camp fair with two co-workers. There were a lot of different camps there, ranging from music to ballet to science. We talked to plenty of kids and parents, gave out applications, brochures, and free candy! Getting our name out there is always good! I hope to see some campers sign up soon.
