HIKE TO STILES FALLS
Alta Mons is home to Stiles Falls, a beautiful 40 foot waterfall. Hiking to the falls is open to the public everyday, except during summer camp, winter camp and bad weather (snow and ice). We ask that visitors park at the front of the property and walk to the trail head. From the parking area to the falls and back is roughly a 3 mile round trip. Check out the map below for a layout of Alta Mons! There are directional signs posted around camp, and the trail is blazed in white. The trail has 3 creek crossings and ends with a rock scramble at the base of the falls. Dogs are welcome, but we ask that you keep them on a leash and clean up after them. Pack out what you pack in from the trail, and please pick up any extra trash that you may find.
Alta Mons will start accepting a parking fee on April 7, 2025. Due to our mutual love for this property, we appreciate your $5 parking contribution to help us maintain this space and keep it open and available for you.
We will be CLOSED for hiking and all day use recreation (dog walking, picnics, etc.) from 2 PM Sunday to 5 PM Friday of the following weeks of 2025: June 22-27; June 29 - July 4; July 6 - 11 and July 13 - 18. This is when we are having summer camp. It is for the safety of all of our campers and staff that we close to the public during this time. Thank you for understanding and respecting this rule.
