WINTER CAMP 2023 THEME:
Our 2023 Winter Camp theme is "Wonder & Awe" and will focus on the "wow" moments of God's beautiful creation in the winter. Campers will enjoy the beauty of creation in the midst of gorgeous evergreens and twinkling stars (and Christmas lights, too). Over the weekend, campers will learn about the beauty of feeling wonder and awe in the small things in life. We will explore what it means to be a community that cares for one another and how to care for God's beautiful creation. We will make crafts, enjoy wagon rides, indulge in some wintertime snacks, play games, sing lots of songs, and experience the power of the Christmas Story. Come to camp and experience the wonder and awe of God's beautiful creation! We hope to see you there!
COVID-19 & WINTER CAMP 2023
A HEALTHY CAMP STARTS WITH A HEALTHY HOME
Before bringing your child to camp, consider the health and safety of everyone involved and make safe choices! Limit travel, exposure to others, and indoor activities as much as possible. For more information on COVID-19 precautions, visit: https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus/schools-workplaces-community-locations/
PRE-ARRIVAL COVID TEST OR Vaccination Card
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the camp community we are requiring ONE of these for all Winter Campers: a copy of your camper's vaccination card OR a negative molecular test within 7 days of camper arrival. It is our strong preference that campers arrive at camp fully vaccinated (if possible) or with a negative molecular test. It is recommended by the CDC that if a camper has tested positive for COVID-19 in the 3 months before the first day of camp that they do NOT take a molecular test as there is a chance they could still test positive.
For help finding a testing location near you, please visit: https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus/covid-19-testing/covid-19-testing-sites/

FACE MASKS
Masking during Winter Camp will be optional for all campers unless the Virginia Department of Health changes its masking requirements. As part of their packing list, campers are asked to bring face masks to camp. Any campers who are symptomatic during camp will be asked to wear a face mask while on-site at camp waiting to return home. Masks should be well-fitted, comfortable, and worn over the nose and under the chin.
DAILY HEALTH CHECKS
Campers and Staff will be screened daily for symptoms, temperature, and any other health concerns. Symptoms include: fever (checking for temperature 100.4 °F or higher), sore throat, new cough, diarrhea, vomiting, or stomachache, new onset of severe headache, especially with a fever.
REVISED REFUND POLICY
Cancellations made 14 days prior to the start of the camp session will be refunded the full amount minus the deposit made. No shows and campers cancelling with fewer than 14 days of notice will not receive a refund of any amount. A full refund may be granted for a documented medical or personal emergency past this date-- agreed upon by parent/guardian and the full time staff of Alta Mons. No shows and campers leaving early do not receive a refund or pro-rate. Please contact us as soon as possible at 540-268-2409 or [email protected] to cancel your child's winter camp registration and allow someone else to fill the spot. For Winter Camp, no refunds will be issued once the session begins.
