WINTER CAMP 2022 THEME:
Our 2022 Winter Camp theme is "Light & Love" and will focus on how the birth of Christ brought the world immeasurable amounts of light and love. Over the weekend, campers will learn about the beauty of God's love for them and how they can share His light and love with others. We will explore what it means to be a community that cares for one another and how God calls us to spread His love to the world. Each day, campers will attend morning watch and evening worship with their unit. This weekend promises to be full of connection, renewal, and community.
COVID-19 & WINTER CAMP 2022
A HEALTHY CAMP STARTS WITH A HEALTHY HOME
Before bringing your child to camp, consider the health and safety of everyone involved and make safe choices! Limit travel, exposure to others, and indoor activities as much as possible. For more information on COVID-19 precautions, visit: https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus/schools-workplaces-community-locations/
PRE-ARRIVAL COVID TEST OR 7 DAY SYMPTOM LOG OF ALL HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the camp community we are requiring ONE of these for all Winter Campers: a copy of your camper's vaccination card, a negative molecular test within 7 days of camper arrival OR a 7-day symptom screening of ALL household members. It is our strong preference that campers arrive at camp fully vaccinated (if possible) or with a negative molecular test. However, we realize this may not be possible for all campers, so we are also accepting a 7-day symptom screening of all household members. It is recommended by the CDC that if a camper has tested positive for COVID-19 in the 3 months before the first day of camp that they do NOT take a molecular test as there is a chance they could still test positive. We suggest the 7-day symptom screening for campers in this situation.
For help finding a testing location near you, please visit: https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus/covid-19-testing/covid-19-testing-sites/

FACE MASKS
Masking during Winter Camp will be optional for all campers unless the Virginia Department of Health changes its masking requirements. As part of their packing list, campers are asked to bring face masks to camp. Any campers who are symptomatic during camp will be asked to wear a face mask while on-site at camp waiting to return home. Masks should be well-fitted, comfortable, and worn over the nose and under the chin.
DAILY HEALTH CHECKS
Campers and Staff will be screened daily for symptoms, temperature, and any other health concerns. Symptoms include: fever (checking for temperature 100.4 °F or higher), sore throat, new cough, diarrhea, vomiting, or stomachache, new onset of severe headache, especially with a fever.
REVISED REFUND POLICY
Pre-arrival cancellations for any reason will be fully refunded. Please contact us as soon as possible at 540-268-2409 or office@altamons.org to cancel your child's winter camp registration and allow someone else to fill the spot. For Winter Camp, no refunds will be issued once the session begins.
