THE ALTA MONS EXPERIENCE
There are a lot of camps out there. We want you to be able to pick the right camp for your child, so we thought hard and came up with a list of what we think makes Alta Mons unique. The following pieces make up the Alta Mons experience. They are the reasons families keep coming back year after year.
CLOSE TO NATURE.At Alta Mons children are free to explore. We hike in creeks, look for salamanders, and build forts. Resident campers spend a night camping outside and cook dinner over a fire. We look for God in the stars and in the sunrise.

COMMUNITY.Camp is built around your unit. You do everything together. We believe in the value of learning to forgive and seeing the strengths in others. Extended time spent with group of peers, give campers the chance to do just that.
|
CHOICE.At the beginning of camp, units sit down with their counselors to plan their schedule for the week. Campers provide input into their activities, cookout meals, and even get to pick their

CHRISTIAN FORMATION.Parents tell us over and over again that Alta Mons is where their child began to experience faith for themselves. We believe this is important. So we share the story of Jesus and leave space for kids to decide what to do next.
|
BETTER TOGETHER.Our campers are city kids, country kids, and everywhere in between. As our campers represent a wide range of demographics groups, we strive to make Alta Mons a place where kids learn that we are better together.
|
responsibility. We believe in doing your fair share. So at camp we all pitch in to get things done. If that means doing dishes, sweeping common spaces, or putting up a tarp, we want campers to learn that they too can contribute.
|
SMALL GROUP CHRISTIAN CAMPINGThe foundational principle with which we structure camp is called Small Group Christian Camping. This structure allows our counselors to form close relationship with their campers and for campers to build tight friendships. Over the course of a week, a group write their own story and has shared experiences that they come back to year after year.
Our hope is that in their unit, campers can practice living in Christian community. This means living out forgiveness, cooperation, and shared success. |
