Hailing from our neighbors up North, Ronda moved from Canada to Shawsville, VA. She began working as a volunteer at Alta Mons in 2010. She became full time staff in mid 2011 as Business Coordinator. She advanced to Executive Director in mid 2013. Ronda has 25+ years of background in business management. Ronda enjoys country music, spending time outdoors, creating new projects with her husband, and loving her beautiful cats and dogs.
MEREDITH SIMMONS PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Meredith was a camper at Alta Mons from 2003 to 2007. After taking several years away from camp, she came on summer staff in 2011 as a counselor and in 2013 became the Program Coordinator. In 2015, Meredith graduated from the University of Virginia with her degree in physics and began working at Alta Mons year round. Meredith also lives at camp and enjoys walking to work everyday. She frequently hikes to the falls and comes up with her best ideas while enjoying the beauty of Alta Mons.
When she's not at camp, she's most likely out hiking the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia. An avid hiker, backpacker, and Girl Scout, Meredith hopes to one day thru hike the entire Appalachian Trail. She also enjoys reading and the occasional physics problem.
ERNESTINE CRITZER GUEST SERVICES COORDINATOR
Ernestine grew up in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. She attended church there at the Alvon Charge and was sent to summer camp at Camp Anthony where she gained a love of camping. She graduated from Dabney S. Lancaster in May 1999. In July 1999 she moved to Roanoke, Virginia and started attending Woodlawn UMC.
Her oldest son, Tyler, began attending Alta Mons Summer camp during his elementary years. Ernestine's other kids have also attended Alta Mons. In her off time she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, reading, and crafting.
