Alta Mons guidelines and rules

​​Hiking to Stiles Falls is OPEN! We are open for hiking each day from dawn until dusk. Please read the information below. Our campground is open through October 31st for camping. We are also open year round for retreats and facility rentals.

Hikers and Day Use Visitors: Please read the directions and sign-in at the hiker board. We ask that you follow all posted policies and procedures and that you refrain from entering the Alta Mons office to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Please also note our new bathroom hours. These are the hours that the Camp Post Bathrooms will be open. These bathrooms are the only public restrooms available at Alta Mons at this time. There are no porta potties available.

Our Public Bathrooms will only be open during the following hours:
9 AM to 5 PM daily, 7 days a week

​Our playground will remain closed and all guests will be asked to follow the posted rules and regulations that have been implemented by the Governor for Phase 3. Alta Mons invites everyone to experience the peace and beauty of God’s beautiful creation. This is private property and we ask that you please respect the property, facilities and other guests by following these rules:
  • No smoking in any buildings (including restrooms). Use designated areas, away from children and non-smokers.
  • No animals are allowed in any buildings (pets in carriers are not permitted).
  • Pets are allowed on the grounds, but must be controlled at all times. Owners are responsible for the animal's behavior, clean-up, and noises.
  • No illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages.
  • No firearms, weapons of any kind, or fireworks.
  • No gas powered alternative transportation or golf carts.
  • Park in designated parking areas only. No vehicles beyond the office unless authorized by staff.
  • Trash and recycling to be disposed of in designated bins placed throughout the property. Each group or person leaving is expected to leave the property or facility just as they found it (including the water falls).
  • Quiet time is from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
  • No canoeing in the pond, unless contracted as a program event.

Camping rates

  • RV season is from April 1 to October 31 and rates are $30.00/site/night.
  • Tent season is from April 1 to October 31 and rates are $20.00/site/night. 

Camping guidelines and rules

  • Maximum of 3 medium sized tents per site.
  • A one night deposit/site is required when making a reservation.
  • Cancellations must be made at least 3 days prior to scheduled arrival date in order for full refunds to be issued. The amount paid minus the deposit can be refunded with less than 3 days notice.
  • RV/Tent check in time is no earlier than 1 PM; check out time is no later than 1 PM.
  • Maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights.
  • Units can not be left unattended longer than 24 hours.
  • No vehicle washing from site faucets.
  • No dumping of "waste water" (grey or black) on the ground.
  • No moving of picnic tables from a site.
  • Firewood will be available for sale at designated areas.
  • Firewood cannot be brought in.
  • Downed trees may be used for fires. Living trees, shrubs, and plants may not be cut or damaged.
  • Fires are permitted in fire rings and must be fully extinguished before leaving.
  • Fires will be prohibited during burn ban conditions.
