EMILY BUSH | RESOURCE COORDINATOR 2019

2/18/2019

Picture
Hey Everyone! My name is Emily Bush and I’m so excited to be the Resource Coordinator this summer. I had such a wonderful time at camp last year as a counselor and I can’t wait to serve in a whole new way this year!

A little bit about me, I’m a sophomore at William and Mary studying Gender Sexuality and Women’s Studies. I’m a member of the community service fraternity APO, I’m the Volunteer Coordinator at Wesley’s Campus Food Pantry and I’m a data management intern at Housing Partnerships. Serving others is what fulfills me and what I believe is my purpose and makes me my best self. That is why I am so excited to have the opportunity to serve at camp!

This might sound corny, but because of camp I am a whole new girl. Nothing had compared to the lessons that I learned from this place and its people. I have become more compassionate and daring and confident and graceful. It truly brought me out of my shell. There is something so unique about being disconnected form your everyday life and disappearing into the hills of camp that connects you with, not only yourself, not only the beings around you, but also the spirit of God. And it is because of camp and that connection that it provides that people are free to grow. Camp won’t do it for you necessarily, but it will provide you the soil and nurturing, loving environment that’s necessary.

Coming to camp is something that I would recommend to absolutely anyone and everyone who is ready for such an experience. But make sure that you come prepared with a positive attitude and ready for tons of fun!

On behalf of myself, Meredith, and all the coordinators and counselors at camp, see you soon!

Yours in boundless love,

Emily Bush
