Dining Hall

Alta Mons has great meal service. All meals are served in our all-season, rustic, dining hall. Enjoy a cool breeze in the summer, or sit by a crackling fire in the winter as you enjoy some "good ole home cooking". Most meals are served family style, with the menu selected by your group in advance. A minimum of 15 is required for meal service and a maximum of about 200 can be accommodated under certain circumstances.

We offer two levels of meals.
Standard Menu - A selection of regional favorites.
Holiday Menu - For groups requiring a special or Holiday meal

With advanced notice we can cater for most dietary requirements.

We offer three different and modern facilities to advance this goal.

These facilities include:
Burrows Lodge - 51 person hotel style accomodation

Pearman House - 26 person farmhouse accomodation

Carter Cottage - 10 person ranch style accomodation

Wellspring Cabin - solo retreat cabin for personal quiet space

Seasonal Accomodations

Brookside 

This facility is split into 2 sides, each with a porch. The front contains an interconnected bedroom with 4 bunk beds and an adjoining toilet and shower. The living area has a log fireplace, sleeper sofa, table and chairs. The kitchen, which joins the front and back, contains a stove, microwave, cooking equipment and a refrigerator/freezer. The back contains 2 rooms, each with 2 bunk beds and a shared half-bathroom with accomodation for 10 persons.

Cabins

For large groups, for summer camp, or for those hardy individuals who want no frills, Alta Mons offers our simple, rustic cabins. A total of 12 cabins, each having 4 bunks (8 beds) provide the fair weather lodging for larger groups of youth or children. Why not go to the dining hall and let us do the cooking for your group while you are here.

The Hogans

Isolated on a wooded hillside in 3 groups of two hogans and a picnic shelter each are the hogans. Used primarily as Jr. High summer campsites, these Hogan units make ideal primitive campsites for the smaller youth group or for individual spiritual get-a-ways.

The Hut

Take two cabins and attach them to a 24x24 ft. bldg with a porch on the front and you have the hut. 16 beds and a heated (woodstove in the meeting room) meeting space make this a great three-season place for small groups.

RV and Tent Camping

Only a short distance from Roanoke, VA Tech, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Alta Mons has 38 RV sites with water and electricity (and a dump station). We have 13 sites along the South Fork Roanoke River and 25 on the Wetlands (Creek) side. Tent camping available in our large, open, yet shaded tent area. Group rates are available.
